Emotionally focused therapy, or EFT<\/b>, is one of the most effective and widely researched forms of therapy used to improve relationships.<\/p>

EFT is based on the understanding that our greatest need is to feel safe and secure in our closest relationships.<\/b> When this connection is disrupted, conflicts, distancing, or feelings of misunderstanding arise.<\/p>

EFT was developed by Dr. Sue Johnson<\/b>, a world-renowned psychologist who has written several books on love and relationships. Her work is based on attachment theory<\/b> and has helped bring a new understanding of how to create and maintain a secure, loving, and lasting relationship.<\/p>

Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT)<\/b> is a research-based form of therapy that focuses on understanding and healing a person’s inner world, past experiences, and the emotions associated with them. EFIT is based on the same principles as Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) \u2013 attachment theory and the importance of emotions \u2013 but is applied in the context of an individual’s inner experiences and relationships.<\/p>

Emotionally focused individual therapy helps people better understand how experiences from childhood or earlier life events affect their current emotions, relationships, and coping skills<\/b>. Often, these early wounds or traumatic experiences have created defense mechanisms that may have once helped them survive, but today limit their vitality, closeness, and self-satisfaction.<\/p>
